The West Virginia Grand Lodge of  Sons of Italy has produced a collection of traditional family recipes in “Taste of Our Italian Heritage” cookbook. Members and friends throughout the state have contributed the 262 recipes that have been passed down from generations long gone. This cookbook touches upon all regions of Italy, those regions being well represented in West Virginia.
A few of the recipes are matched with their Italian roots, such as
Bagna cŕuda and polenta from Piedmont; Grape bread ~ Tuscany; Olives Ascoli style ~ Le Marche; Bruschetta ~ Abruzzo; Camonata and Granits ~ Sicily.
“Taste of Our Italian Heritage” contains family treasures such as roasted peppers, wedding soup, lasagna, eggplant, zucchini and mushroom dishes, biscotti, pizzelle and other Italian cookies and the unexpected recipes for homemade fresh ricotta and limoncello.
